The third stucco layer in the three-coat process. This is the decorative layer and is where texture or design patterns are applied to the surface.
A cut at an angle on the ends of floor joists for use with a solid masonry wall; prevents toppling the wall if the house should catch fire.
Usually 2" x 2" or 1" x 3" lumber affixed to the wall to provide a nailing surface.
