Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2)
Conclusions of Phase 1 Review and Assessment
No industrial processes were identified as potential sources of NO2 emissions during the Council’s Stage 1 Review and Assessment. A number of roads were identified with average daily flows exceeding 20,000 vehicles, therefore requiring further assessment during the first round of Review and Assessment. A simple modelling assessment using the DMRB was
undertaken potentially assessment
at Stage 2. The assessment concluded that predicted concentrations in 2005 would
exceed the AQOs for was therefore required
NO2 in central Newbury
and close to 3 assessment
modelling software and concluded that it was unlikely for the AQOs to be exceeded of relevant exposure long the M4, A4 and A34. An AQMA was not declared.
Estimated and Monitored Data
Estimated annual mean background NOx and NO2 concentrations have been compiled and
mapped for the UK on a 1 km x 1 km basis5.
concentrations in the West Berkshire region are detailed in Tables 8.1 and 8.2 below.
