Appendix B details Part A and Part B industrial sources identified in the Council’s Stage 1 report. Consultation with WBC has identified that no further sources have been permitted or planned within the authority, since compilation of the data during the first round of assessments.
From a review of this information, no Part A or Part B processes were identified as having potential to emit sources of NOx which would result in the AQOs being exceeded.
No other sources, including aircraft and shipping were identified within the WBC region.
Summary and Recommendation
A review of background data indicates that the annual mean NO2 objective is likely to be achieved in 2005. The assessment of road transport emissions, utilising Defra screening tools, identified that it was unlikely for the annual mean AQO to be exceeded at locations of relevant exposure. This is also consistent with predicted concentrations at national monitoring at the Reading site.
A Detailed Assessment of NO2 is not required.
A Progress Report should identify any changes to the data utilised within this review and be completed by April 2004.
