FOR SEWER CONNECTION PERMIT INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to receiving a connection permit for all industrial or commercial sewer connections to any Rock River Water Reclamation District (District) sewer, the Industrial/Commercial User (I/C U), his agent, or plumber, must satisfactorily complete Sections I-III, Supplemental Schedule A, and if applicable, Supplemental Schedule B, and sign the attached form.
Upon receipt, District staff will review the completed form for compliance with District Ordinances, and State and Local codes. . If additional information is required, District staff will contact the user, his agent or plumber. Extended review time will be necessary to process further supplementary information.
When the completed Industrial/Commercial Application is reviewed and found in compliance with all requirements, the Engineering Department shall issue a sewer connection permit. Engineering Technicians are available on 24-hour notice to make the required field inspections for the sewer connections.
All commercial or industrial wastewater sources consisting of more than one (1) building or treating or discharging 1500 or more gallons per day of sewage, or both may be required to obtain a Construction/Operation Permit from IEPA prior to the issuance of a connection permit to District sewers. (See: EPA – WPCB – Title 35, Subtitle C, Chapter 1, Subpart B, Section 309.202)
An Industrial/Commercial Application Form is required for installations including, but not limited to, building connection, building addition, building repair or remodeling, special service devices and change of use (change of use is defined as a change in the characteristics of wastewater being discharged).
6.The applicant shall be required to pay the I/C Application fee, pursuant to District’s current Ordinance Establishing Rates, Fees, Charges, Penalties, Bond Requirements, Permits and Additional Charges for the Rock River Water Reclamation District, at the time the Industrial/Commercial Application is submitted.
Section I – General
This section covers general information to be submitted by the Industrial/Commercial User that is relative to the prospective connection.
If food is prepared at this facility, mark Section I-N and complete Supplemental Schedule B of this form.
Section II – Building and Site Plumbing Plan
The user or plumbing contractor shall include an engineered site drawing, to scale, showing the entire parcel and adjacent streets, all existing and proposed building locations and existing utilities to and on the parcel, the sewer connection, the proposed building service, special service devices, sampling manhole (if applicable), North arrow, a plumbing plan and plumbing schematic including the building service and building plumbing. Required special service features, such as but not limited to, grease traps, grease interceptors, oil/water separators, sand catch basins, shall be shown on the detailed engineered site drawing, plumbing plan and plumbing schematic.
