Oil Hill Elementary

The Site Council completed another year of support for staff and students. Over the summer, the council oversaw the installation of phase one of our new playground equipment. They helped support the Back to School Parent Meetings by serving supper to the parents, staff and students. The council also continued to sell school spirit shirts.

Financial support was provided for the school through a drawing and Red Wheel Food sales. Fun Night was one of the sponsored events which provided a fun evening event for the community. The money earned went toward phase two of the playground improvement project which is to be installed this summer. The council was able to give each teacher $100 to spend on classroom supplies and provided meals for teachers during conferences.

The Site Council discussed various school related topics during the year. Topics discussed were: student health issues and concerns presented by Eddie Rogers, School Nurse; Officer Scott Duryea spoke about student safety at and away from school; and Billy Jackson addressed the purpose and results of NWEA Testing and results of the State Assessments.
