Culture of an organisation

It may be possible to identify what sort of attitude an employer will have towards employing disabled people by looking at the general culture of the organisation. You can sometimes find this information from looking at brochures, equal opportunity policies and annual reports.

4Looking for job vacancies

Once you have identified the sort of job you are looking for, there are many sources of information on vacancies. These include looking at newspaper adverts, contacting employers directly, searching the internet, attending careers fairs and contacting recruitment agencies. You might be able to get some assistance with this from disability organisations. See section 9 Disability organisations that help jobseekers.
