Section 13851 - Fire Alarm And Detection Systems Design Standards
NOTE: DO NOT PUT FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEM UNDER DIVISION 16
Separate fire alarm and detection system drawings shall be prepared. Fire alarm and detection system drawings shall not be incorporated in the electrical or communications drawings.
Any proposed changes affecting the fire alarm system must have the approval of FSG-Fire Safety Department and Owner's Representative.
Any system other than Notifier or Simplex shall be proposed to the Owner during the design development phase only.
A presentation of the systems shall be made to the Owner and a list of locations shall be supplied. An on-site visit of the system will be required prior to approval of the substitution.
All systems shall have capability of handling a minimum of 20% more "alarm causing" and "signaling devices" without adding additional equipment to the fire alarm control panel (FACP) at a later time.

All "intelligent" fire alarm control panels shall be programmed so that it can be reset only when a security level access level of 3 or greater is used.
(Access Level 1) (Panel must be in the alarm condition)
