The Italian Connection

Hans Mecker

Account Executive

We did it again

Our featured exhibit this month is another example of how teams come together under extreme pressure and how a good reputation can make an impact around the world.

Based on a recommendation by our largest and most loyal client in Tuscany, The Expo Group was approached by one of the largest exhibit companies in Italy to construct a 25- by-40-foot exhibit with graphics containing

ceilings, specialty lighting, special

covering and large graphics murals -- and to get it to Boston in the shortest possible time.

the exhibit came together beautifully and was on a truck to SIBOS in Boston, where it was installed on time for Intesa San Paolo, a large Italian investment bank, to take over and conduct their business during the following three days of the tradeshow.

Our performance secured another extremely short turnaround job at the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, where The Expo Group built and delivered a display wall with a total of 840 square feet of graphics as the back drop for a reception with top bank officials

and IMF representatives.

After a brief meeting it was decided that we would relish this job with Eurofiere. While production started, graphics were still being developed in Italy. In just nine production days

The result: A contract

cooperation in the U.S. market with our Italian counterparts.

The Expo Group’s custom exhibits department pulls through for international clients Eurofiere and Intesa San Paolo with this stand-out exhibit.

Letter to the L.A. Mayor:

The American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) just concluded its annual event at the Los Angeles Convention Center and The Expo Group staff wanted to express its thoughts

and and

impressions related to your facility city. The Expo Group has been the

general contractor years and that has

on ASTRO for many allowed us to see most

of the top tier country. That

convention cities around the gives us the ability to make

some unbiased comparisons. you to know we feel you have a for conventions.

We wanted great facility

I’m sure you are aware and very proud of the exemplary display of service your front line people provide. They are highly professional, very conscientious and always show a sense of urgency. I would like to specifically mention the following people we encountered that exhibited the best in customer service and hospitality:

Ms. Ligaya Banayad--LACC Mr. Reggie Chit--LACC Ms. Robbie Bridges--Smart City Networks Mr. Robert Briseno--Smart City Networks Mr. Dave Caldwell--LACC Mr. Tom Fields—LACC Mr. Henry De La Rosa-Smart City Networks Ms. Charmaine Casa—LACC Ms. Roslyn Libuit—LACC

An honorable mention also needs to go out to the unions that provided the labor for this event. Too often we hear the negative regarding union labor, but in Los Angeles they were a pleasure to work with.

When you are away from home and working in another city it’s never fun when you have to experience unpleasant people and difficult situations. The Expo Group wanted to say THANK YOU for making our visit to Los Angeles such a pleasant one.

Best regards,

Gerald R. Burden, C.P.M. Director of Procurement The Expo Group
