The Nippon Professional Baseball League consists of twelve teams that are located all across Japan. Students will focus on these twelve teams to gain a better understanding of the location of the major cities of Japan.
How to use maps and other geographic representations, tools, and technologies to acquire, process, and report information.
How to analyze the spatial organization of people, places, and environments on Earth's surface.
The physical and human characteristics of places.
Students will identify locations of Japanese cities.
Students will label Japanese cities on an outline map.
Students determine distances between Japanese cities
Students select a Japanese professional baseball team to research. Research will focus on the home city of the selected team. Each student, working in small groups, will locate the home city of their assigned team, label this city on a blank outline map of Japan, and construct a PowerPoint presentation that presents the home city in an informational manner.
