YWCA of New Castle County Wilmington, DE $19,425 The YWCA of New Castle County has a 105-year history of delivering human services to meet the changing needs of women and families in the state of Delaware. Centers for Homeownership (Centers) is one of the organization’s six programs for economic advancement. Through Centers, the YWCA provides education, preparation, counseling, and support in the areas of homeownership and other asset-building, with programs targeted to low-to moderate-income individuals and families. Families receive assistance in repairing and reestablishing credit, budgeting to save for a home, obtaining a mortgage, choosing a community loan program for down payment/settlement assistance, going through settlement, and making simple home repairs. The YWCA also provides reverse mortgage counseling on Home Equity Conversion Mortgages for senior citizens. The housing counseling staff consists of a Program Director and three experienced full-time housing counselors.

MCHDO also has workshops on specific topics, such as: Credit Repair, Home Ownership, Client Rights and Responsibilities, Effectively Meeting Obligations, Handling Liabilities, Goal Setting, Debt Reduction, General Maintenance and Repair.
