Rod Masters is the Managing Director and Principal of GSS Environmental. He is a former District Manager of the NSW Soil Conservation Service (now NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources). Rod has 20 years experience in formulating erosion and sediment control plans, conducting land reclamation and revegetation programs, undertaking soil surveys, preparing water management plans and assessing environmental impact of mining, rural, industrial and urban developments.
Having fulfilled the roles of extension officer, regulator, consultant & contractor, Rod is in the unique position of having an intimate knowledge and understanding of the “soil & water industry” from all perspectives. Rod has been recently engaged by the NSW Department of Environment & Conservation (DEC) to prepare the Mines & Quarries Chapter of “Managing Urban Stormwater: Soils & Construction” (or the Blue Book as it is known in Government circles).
