Five Pancake Breakfast tickets are included with each newsletter sent to a high school student unless parents purchased tickets at the Preview Show in August. Please sell these tickets and return the money to school by November 11. Unsold tickets must be re- turned to school as well.

SILENT AUCTION

Admission is free with a Pancake Break- fast ticket. Last year auction items in- cluded restaurant, furniture and jewelry gift certifi- cates plus gift baskets and many other items. If you own a business or know a friend who has their own business or are comfortable asking the places you pa- tronize for donations, please complete the form on page 5 of this newsletter and turn in or mail to the High School Music Office as soon as possible.

BAND BUTTONS

The Band Boosters have recently begun selling but- tons. They are 2 1/4” pin back buttons: $1.50 each or 4 for $5.00. These make great gifts and stocking stuffers. There are many, many different kinds to choose from including photo buttons. Buttons will be displayed for sale at home football games as well as all concerts. Check the band website for any addi- tional times to purchase. Personal requests and de- signs are being accepted. For more info, contact Reny Missos or Lynn Murphy.

2010 ISSMA SOLO & ENSEMBLE COMPETITIONS Middle School & High School

Looking ahead all middle school and high school band members: The deadline to send in an applica- tion for solo and ensemble contest is the end of No- vember. Be sure to pick up an application and have your solo chosen. For more information, go to issma.net. The competition takes place on Saturday, January 30, 2010. It probably will be at Wayne High School in Fort Wayne, but this is not con- firmed. The band website will have more informa- tion as it becomes available.

High School Ensemble Members : Please be aware that if your group gets a Gold rating in Group I competition, you will go on to State Competition at North Central High School in Indianapolis on Feb- ruary 27, 2010. (High School soloists receiving a Gold in Class I competition also go on to State).
