Richard H. Fleming Executive VP & CFO, USG Corporation “Creating Value in Uncertain Times”

Richard H. Fleming is executive vice president and chief financial officer of USG Corporation. He received a B.A. in economics from the University of the Pacific in 1969 and a M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College in 1971.

Prior to joining USG Corporation, Fleming was vice president and chief financial officer of Masonite Corporation. Fleming joined Masonite Corporation in 1973 and held a variety of positions in finance. He was elected vice president—planning and treasurer in 1984 and vice president—finance and chief financial officer in 1985.

Before joining Masonite Corporation, Fleming held several positions with Graco, Inc., Minneapolis.

In May 1984, Masonite Corporation was acquired by USG Corporation and became a wholly owned subsidiary of USG Corporation until November 1988, at which time it was sold to International Paper Company. Fleming assisted with the sale of Masonite and its integration into International Paper until February 1989, when he re-joined USG Corporation as assistant treasurer and director, corporate finance. In January 1991, Fleming was appointed vice president and treasurer, USG Corporation. In January 1994, he was appointed vice president and chief financial officer. In January 1995 ,
