prizewinners was Josh Bolton who completed his RYA Levels 1 and 2. Youth organizer Colin Walters, who
arranged for the visit of Olympic Gold medalist Andrew Simpson earlier in the season, gave a resume of the training sessions under RYA Senior Instructor Martin Moore. Eileen Walters announced the prizes which were presented by Commodore Dave Beer. Special thanks were given to the caterers, Sea School principal Chris Joyner for the use of equipment, popular barman Mike Poupard and the Commodore presented a bouquet to Youth Section organizer Sally Holman. Members and their families enjoyed a supper by Annabelle, and a collection for the fireworks was made in the clubhouse by Tori Forster.
Plans are already underway for the 2011 season with new youth members signing up. Training is open to those over 10 who become youth members of LRSC at a low subscription. There is no further charge made for training. Young sailors are encouraged to follow the RYA training scheme and gain certificates for levels of competence attained.
