TREASURER WANTED FOR LYME REGIS SAILING CLUB LTD.
The Club is looking for a new Treasurer to take over from Lesley, who would like to retire after more than ten years’ service. The Treasurer will need to be computer literate as the accounts are processed using the software accounting package ‘Quick Books’. A basic knowledge of book keeping would also be useful but not essential as again, Lesley will be on hand should you have any problems. We would like to appoint a Club member in this role, but if you know of anybody who might be interested in taking on the job and is not a member at the moment, please let me know. Lesley or I will be pleased to provide further information about the role. Current job involves the following:
Maintain a proper set of accounts ready for inspection at any time.
Keep Club’s bank accounts
Pay suppliers’ invoices
VAT record for the Club’s auditor
Keep a record of the fuel used to reclaim the duty
Balance the membership fees with the Membership Secretary.
Keep control of the budget and provide advice to committee on Spend
Provide Financial position for Club Committee meetings monthly.
Produce annual set of accounts for the Club Auditor.
Present Club accounts at AGM
Set the membership fees annually for approval by Committee
Update the Club’s Insurance policies and process any claims.
Ensure Fire Certificate and security inspection are up to date.
Oversee the financial aspect of events including payment of launching fees
Liaise with West Dorset District Council regarding
Council tax, rent,
The present Treasurer has set up on Quick books
A Computer and Printer can be provided if required.
Lesley will give whatever support is required during the handover phase.
A small Honorarium is provided .

We may be able to reorganise it and delegate some of the tasks, particularly for anyone getting used to the job and until they have an understanding of the time they feel happy to commit and of the basic bookkeeping involved. I hope for a response from among our members.
