Step 9 - Create an address table with PCTC’s name, street address, zipcode. Discussion: Both an address table and a reference table are needed for geocoding. You will first create the input address table populated with the address(es) you wish to map.
Open a new spreadsheet in MS Excel.
Set the column headers and enter data as follows:
NOTE: Make sure that you format the Zipcode column as Text!
File > Save As, scroll to your folder, save as input_address_table.xls.
Select Cell A1 in the input address table, select File > Save As, scroll to your folder, save as input_address_table.dbf (select DBF4 using the arrow in the Files of Type window below the File Name window).
You will be prompted by several windows:
Press OK. Another window opens:
Press Yes. The table returns, now saved as a .dbf file:
Close the input address table. If prompted, save it (again!) as a .dbf.
