In the case of NJCU, the student selects the top candidate (note the score of 100) and presses Match. The upper entry highlighted in bright blue changes, reflecting the new choice:

  • The student presses Close. The Review/Rematch address window re-appears (below left):

  • The student presses Done.

ArcMap returns with NJCU properly located (above right).

Step 11 - Download airphotos from the NJDEP Discussion - Another excellent source of map data is a rectified airphoto, aka orthorectified photo or orthophoto. These airphotos have been rectified into a map coordinate system, so they can be brought into a GIS along with other data. Orthophotos bring a component of realism to mapping that vector files lack. Since we have been dealing with a number of different data sources in this exercise (TIGER, GPS, Geocoding), it is logical to add one more.

Procedure -

  • Your instructor will place orthophotos of Patterson, NJ in the PCCC GIS I Folder. Copy the

njdep_orthophotos folder to your Exr02 folder.
