We begin with some exciting news: Ronsdale has been voted “B.C. Publisher of the Year” by the Association of B.C. Publishers, recognizing Ronsdale’s contributions to Canadian publishing for over a quarter of a century.
With that good news in mind, it gives all of us at Ronsdale great pleasure to introduce our titles for Autumn 2014 with six new books, many recent favourites and a full backlist. We keep all our books in print and now have some 236 separate titles in our warehouse.
As was mentioned last season, Ronsdale has now successfully moved to Publishers Group Canada (PGC) for its sales, with distribution through Raincoast. Bookstores and libraries have found the transition to be seamless, and books are being shipped to their destinations quickly. Our new ordering information is listed on the catalogue’s back page.
We are delighted to confirm that all our new books, along with
most of our backlist titles, are available as e-books from Kindle, Kobo, Sony, Nook, Apple, Overdrive and Follett.
As we enter Fall 2014, it is gratifying to see that Jack Hodgins’ new novel, Cadillac Cathedral, has been on the B.C. Bestseller list for several months, often in first or second place. Our new list continues with a number of important books: a soldier’s memoir of her years in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in WWII; an eye-witness historical account of Vancouver’s Great Fire of 1886; a new novel by Danial Neil; an historical novel for young readers about First Nations and Joseph Brant; the second in a series of picture books about Happy the Pocket
Mouse; and two powerful poetry collections.
