Volunteers: All students with an interest in public international law are encouraged to volunteer at the WCRO. We have several volunteer opportunities with a wide range of time commitments. Volunteers work on projects including:

  • Monitoring of on-going cases before the world’s major international criminal courts and tribunals.

  • Assisting with discrete legal research, editing, or spading projects.

  • Conducting research of jurisprudence for an upcoming database of international criminal and humanitarian law.

International Student Resource Panel: Those students who have legal experience in countries other than the United States are encouraged to sign up for the WCRO’s International Student Resource Panel. We keep a list of panel members who are willing to serve as resource persons on WCRO research projects that have a comparative law element. The time commitment for Panel members is highly flexible as volunteers are free to donate as much or as little time as they would like. If interested, please send your contact information and country (or countries) of expertise to warcrimes@wcl.american.edu.


SBA Senate Meeting The next meeting of the SBA Senate will be Tuesday, April 6 at 10:10pm in Room 101. This will be the last regular meeting of the semester before the budget meeting. Any student or student organization that wishes to be placed on the agenda should contact Colin Bell at colin.bell@american.edu by Monday, April 5.

Vacant Senate Seat For Part Time Students There is a vacant Senate seat in the SBA Senate. This seat is open to any part time student. If you want more information or wish to be considered for this seat, please contact Colin Bell at colin.bell@american.edu as soon as possible. The SBA Senate will choose a person to fill this seat at its April 6 meeting. Candidates will be allowed to make a brief presentation and answer questions from Senators.

MANDATORY BUDGET INFORMATION MEETING FOR ALL STUDENT GROUP TREASURERS There will be a mandatory informational meeting for all student group treasurers regarding the budget application process on March 31, 2003 in Room 524 at 10:10 PM. During the meeting each group will receive a copy of the new budget guidelines and will receive an example of a suggested budget. If the treasurer of the group is unable to attend, please send another representative to receive the information. NO GROUP WILL BE ALLOWED TO SUBMIT A BUDGET WITHOUT ATTENDING AND SIGNING IN AT THE MEETING.
