Application must be made by May 1 in order for funds to be available by the start of summer school. To qualify you must:
$ enroll in a minimum of six credit hours, $ have a 2004-05 FAFSA on file, and $ meet satisfactory academic progress standards. Only loan assistance is available for the summer. You may borrow up to the cost of attendance at WCL or another institution/program if the credits earned will be accepted by WCL. For many both federal and private funding may be required to meet full costs. If so, you must also apply to your outside lender by May 1. Additional information is available in the office
Special Notice ~Summer Research Assistants Students seeking to work as Research Assistants during the summer must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for Federal Work-Study assistance. Summer earnings will be paid from a mix of federal and institutional funds and federal eligibility guidelines will apply. Regulations stipulate that a portion of earnings during a period of non attendance (summer) must be used to cover expenses for the next period of enrollment (the academic year). This applies if courses are not taken during summer. Contact the office for details.
Prospective Graduates Exit Interviews Federal Direct Stafford Loan borrowers must complete Exit Counseling requirements prior to graduation. Borrower information packets will be mailed shortly. In the meantime, you may complete the requirement online at: http://www.dlssonline.com/exitcounseling/ecec-main.asp Once you have completed your session, submit the signed survey form to this office.
Bar Study Loans Loans are available to help with prep course expenses. You can borrow from $8,000 to $15,000 through the private lender with whom you have an established relationship. Links to lenders can be found on the Alternative Loan page of the financial aid web site.
