Note: Alderman King was absent from the chamber at the time of the vote.

Committee of the Whole. Favorable. From the Mayor, submitting amendments to the FY 2005 Capital Budget for the Macy’s Building Demolition Project (Long Wharf and Gateway Portion).

The favorable report of the Committee of the Whole recommending passage of the proposed ordinance amendment, as printed on pages 106-107 of the Journal of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen held on February 7, 2005, was read for the second time.

REPORT ACCEPTED.  ORDINANCE AMENDMENT ENACTED.

Upon motion made and duly seconded, said ordinance amendment was put to a roll call vote, which resulted as follows:

Those voting “AYE”: Healey, Chen, James, Jackson-Brooks, Perez, Colon, Clark, Smart, Addonizio, Mattison, Lee, Ellis-West, Santana, Jolly, Castro, Paolillo, DePino, Edwards, Blango, Jones, Shah, Silverman, Voigt, Rawls-Ivy, Goldfield and Gorham-Walker – 26.

Those voting “NO”: 0.

Said ordinance amendment was enacted by a majority vote of the Board of Aldermen, and it was so declared by the Chair.

Note: Alderwoman McCormack abstained from voting on this item and Alderman King was absent from the chamber at the time of the vote.

From Kinya Murray, et.al. submitting letters requesting that the Board of Aldermen deny any efforts to use City funds to demolish the New Haven Coliseum until public hearings and studies occur.

From Thomas Holahan submitting a letter requesting the Board to table the downtown   development project to allow for more time to compile relevant information and hear from local experts.

The unfavorable reports of the Committee of the Whole, recommending leave to withdraw of the proposed items, as printed on pages 107-108 of the Journal of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen held on February 7, 2005, were read for the second time and upon motion made and duly seconded it was voted, viva voce, that said reports be accepted and proposed items be given leave to withdraw, and it was so declared by the
