The unfavorable report of the Community Development Committee recommending leave to withdraw of the proposed item, as printed on page 110 of the Journal of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen held on February 7, 2005, was read for the second time and upon motion made and duly seconded it was voted, viva voce, that said report be accepted and proposed item be given leave to withdraw, and it was so declared by the Chair.

Alderwoman Jackson-Brooks:  “I just wanted to go on record that Attorney Reizfeld withdrew his request.  So, the committee is recommending the leave to withdraw.”

From Mayor, submitting the required budgetary and financial report for the month of October 2004.

From the Chief of Police, resolution authorizing the application to and acceptance of funding not to exceed $29,100 to the State Division of Highway Safety for additional police patrols and isolated DUI sobriety checkpoints conducted during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The favorable reports of the Finance Committee recommending passage of the proposed orders and resolution, as printed on pages 110-111 of the Journal of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen held on February 7, 2005, were read for the second time and upon motion made and duly seconded, it was voted, viva voce, that said reports be accepted and proposed orders be passed and resolutions be adopted, and it was so declared by the Chair.

Alderman Voigt:  “Items one and two are for read and file.  Item three. This grant by the State Division of Highway Safety is to reimburse the Police Department for their costs in setting up DUI checkpoints and additional patrols during the past holiday season. I ask for your support on these items.  Thank you.”

FINANCE. FAVORABLE. From the Director of Engineering and Public Works submitting an order approving General Fund transfer #0767 in the amount of $54,271 to offset projected expenditures and shortfalls within some operating divisions.
