The American Academy of Pediatrics recently adopted a resolution encouraging all its member state and local societies and chapters to:

“support and advocate for changes in existing state and local laws and policies that protect children from s e c o n d h a n d s m o k e e x p o s u r e b y p r o h i b i t i n g s m o k i n g i n a n y v e h i c l e w h i l e a l e g a l m i n o r ( u n d e r 1 8 y e a r s o f age) is in the vehicle.” 7
