Among the soil biological properties, microbial activity viz., bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes counts at different growth stages of soybean was significantly higher in treatments receiving organic manures with fermented organics over RDF + FYM and fermented organics alone. Similar trend was observed in case of enzymatic activities.

Equivalent yield of soybean recorded significantly higher with compost and vermicompost along with beejamrut + jeevamrut + panchagavya, RDF + FYM over compost + GLM, vermicompost + GLM, beejamrut + jeevamrut, compost + beejamrut + jeevamrut + panchagavya, beejamrut + jeevamrut + panchagavya.

Economic anlaysis clearly indicated that net return in soybean was significantly higher with compost + GLM + beejamrut + jeevamrut + panchagavya, RDF + FYM, compost + vermicompost + GLM and all the treatments with combined application of organics and fermented organics. Whereas B:C ratio was significantly higher with compost + vermicompost

Economic analysis of wheat reveals that net returns was significantly higher with the application of compost + vermicompost + GLM, RDF + FYM, organic manures alone, beejamrut + jeevamrut, vermicompost + GLM and compost + vermicompost + GLM along with beejamrut + jeevamrut over treatments with panchagavya and compost + GLM + beejamrut + jeevamrut. However compost + vermicompost + GLM noticed significantly higher B:C ratio.

In case of cropping system, compost + vermicompost + GLM recorded significantly higher net return which was statistically comparable with RDF + FYM. Whereas, it had significantly higher B:C ratio compared to rest of the treatments.

Conclusions

Significant increase in yield of soybean was recorded due to combined application of organic manures in combination with beejamrut + jeevamrut and panchagavya and were at par with RDF + FYM.

Soil chemical properties after harvest of both soybean and wheat in terms of organic carbon content, available N, P2O5 and K2O were enriched in treatments with either organic manures alone or in combination with fermented organics.

There was significant improvement in soil biological indicators such as microbial

  • Net return and B:C ratio were higher with integrated application of compost + vermicompost + GLM as compared to rest of the organic manurial treatments and also with RDF + FYM.
