This is four-year scheduled review of a special use permit issued to Sunshine Preschool to operate a preschool facility at 12618 West 62nd Terrace in the CH (Commercial Highway) zoning district. The special use permit was first issued in March of 2002.
This is the four-year scheduled review of a special use permit issued to Sunshine Preschool for the operation of a preschool facility at 12618 West 62nd Terrace. The special use permit was issued in March, 2002. The owner has maintained a current occupational license, and all required fire inspections have been conducted (see attached report). The maximum capacity of the preschool is eighty-four (84) children at any one time. The preschool operates in two sessions, a morning session and an afternoon session. The facility opened in May, 2002. City staff has received no complaints regarding the operation of this facility.
Staff recommends extension of SUP-3-02-02 for the operation of Sunshine Preschool, a preschool for children, at 12618 West 62nd Street for a period of four (4) years subject to the following conditions:
A maximum of eighty-four (84) children will be allowed within the facility;
The hours of operation shall be limited to 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday;
The applicant shall obtain a sign permit prior to installation of any signage on the building’s façade, and all signage shall meet the requirements of Shawnee Municipal Code (SMC) 5.64;
The applicant shall provide staff a copy of the State license should any changes occur to the licensing of the facility during the review period; and
The Special Use Permit shall be reviewed in four (4) years.
