Commissioner Jenkins stated that he felt that there was a place for massage therapy in our community.
PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION
moved to approve text amendments to Shawnee Municipal Code, Section 17.51, Table of General Use Regulations, to allow massage therapy establishments with a special use permit in the SMPKYCH(O) (Shawnee Mission Parkway Commercial Highway (Overlay)) zoning district, subject to staff recommendations. .
The next two items were on the consent agenda and held to the end of the meeting pending the arrival of a representative of the project. Ryan Cook from the Polsinelli Law Firm noted that he would be representing Lightning Ground Services for both the plat and the site plan.

The applicant requests approval of a revised site plan for construction of an additional entry drive and parking lot improvements for Lightning Ground Services, 8315 Monticello Road. The request is submitted by Apex Engineering for Chris Edin, owner.
SITE PLAN REVIEW
1.The applicant requests revised site plan approval for construction of an additional entry drive at the northeast corner of their lot. The plan also includes expansion of the parking lot to the east to provide more employee parking. The property is located on the southeast corner of 83rd Street and Monticello Road. Monticello Road has been scheduled for improvement by the City of Lenexa. These improvements will affect circulation and access on the site that currently comes solely from Monticello Road.
