Goughs Bay Area.… 20 Minutes

BRACK’S BRIDGE Located on Howes Creek Road at the Goughs Bay end. 20 minutes from Mansfield is a popular picnic spot on the banks of the Delatite River, the park is on the right hand side of the river. Bush toilets available.

KANGAROOS AT THE PINES Turn into Goughs Bay Road and travel for approx. 7 kms then turn right into Walsh’s Road. Travel approx. 5 kms. On the left is a cleared section just before you get to the rangers hut, there you will see hundreds of kangaroos coming out to graze at twilight

Jamieson Area… 30 Mins

JAMIESON 30 minutes from Mansfield. Take a leisurely walk around this historic township. In the 1850s its population was around 4,000. The town is at the junction of the Goulburn and Jamieson River where you can frolic in the rivers or fish. Shaded picnic ground located at Brewery Bridge, great for younger children to splash around in. Continue on to Kevington and Woods Point.

Bonnie Doon Area… 10-15 Minutes

SEVEN CREEKS: GOORAM FALLS & POLLY MCQUINNS RESERVE Located 30 Minutes from Mansfield. Travel the Maroondah Hwy to Merton then turn onto Euroa- Mansfield Rd for a further 12km. Set in the Strathbogie Ranges, this area is a wonderland to explore. A unique system of granite outcrops, cascading waterfalls and deep pools. Take the easy 400m walk to get a close up view of the powerfully gushing Gooram Falls.

BONNIE DOON RAILWAY BRIDGE WALK Enjoy this walk from Wilson Street, near the cemetery across the old railway bridge at Bonnie Doon.

LAKE EILDON TOURIST DRIVE Collect your free map from the Mansfield Information Centre and away you go. This 172.4km journey takes you on a circuit of Lake Eildon’s 515km shoreline. Allow at least 4-5 hours. Enjoy spectacular views and visit the towns of Eildon and Jamieson. There are 40.6km of unsealed roads, however all roads are maintained and able to be travelled in everyday motor vehicles.

Tolmie & King Valley 30 minutes – 1 hour

KELLY TREE Tolmie-Tatong Road (turn off the Mansfield Whitfield Road) A leisurely half hour drive will bring you to the Kelly Tree at Tolmie. It is the site of the October 25th 1878 gunfight between the Kelly Gang and Mansfield Police. Three Policemen (Sergeant Kennedy, and Constables Scanlon and Lonigan) were shot. Stringy- bark Camping Reserve is located nearby with Toilet facilities. A memorial to these policemen is situated in the centre of the round-a-bout in Mansfield. Their graves can be found in the Mansfield cemetery.

POWERS LOOKOUT Tolmie-Whitfield Road. 45 minutes from Mansfield this lookout is believed to have been used by the Bushranger Harry Powers. The lookout provides great views of the King Valley, (home of many specialist food houses, wineries, Lake William Hovell, and the home of White Water Rafting). There is a car park, picnic area with tables, chairs, undercover fireplaces, wood BBQ and toilets.
