NavNet 3D Becomes The Most Versatile Chart Plotter, With The Addition of “C-Map by Jeppesen” Charts

Camas, WA – February 3, 2010. When Furuno introduced NavNet 3D, one area they pledged to continue refining was the chart offerings. Coming early this spring, NavNet 3D will further expand its chart versatility with the addition of “C-Map by Jeppesen” MapMedia charts. These new vector charts will be available worldwide, with the East Coast & Bahamas being released first, and the rest of North America to follow shortly thereafter. NavNet 3D will be the only chart plotter on the market providing users the ability to choose from pre-loaded official NOAA raster and vector charts, or optional “C-Map by Jeppesen” and “Datacore by Navionics” (outside U.S.) vector cartography. To top it off, all of these chart formats are easily viewed in traditional 2D or incredible 3D, using NavNet 3D’s patented TimeZero technology.

The collection of “C-Map by Jeppesen” MapMedia charts for North America will include the following regions: Coastal US, Gulf of Mexico, Great Lakes & Rivers, Canada, and Baja Mexico. Once all of the North America charts are available, MapMedia will continue releasing “C-Map by Jeppesen” MapMedia charts covering the rest of the world. Chart coverage areas and prices for the charts have not been set at this time. “Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive and detailed chart library available for our NavNet 3D customers. We will continue to do this through updating the free NOAA US raster & vector charts that are included with a customer’s initial NavNet 3D purchase, as well as offering special “C-Map by Jeppesen” and “Navionics Data Core” chart editions that can be purchased separately,” stated Dean Kurutz, Marketing Manager for Furuno USA. A software update will be necessary to use the new “C-Map by Jeppesen” charts, which will be available for download at Furuno’s web site (www.FurunoUSA.com).
