Water:

Water is available in designated locations.

Be sure that the water valves or hose nozzles are off before you leave the sink, toilet or hose.

Outposts are advised to keep several large jugs of potable water on hand at all times.

We suggest that you bring plenty of potable water to camp. For Drinking.

Avoid spills and conserve water.  Boys must be supervised while using the spigots to fill water containers.

Be sure your boys are drinking enough water or other fluids. It is hot, the boys are walking or running around, they need plenty of fluid intake.  Water is best.

Chopping Area:

Your chopping area should have a tool rack with all tools properly stored when not in use.

Make sure only one person at a time is working the area except for instruction between a commander and boy.

The area should be roped off with streamers hanging on the ropes for higher visibility.

Boys using cutting tools must have a Cut and Chop Card.

Water Safety:

Because of the danger imposed by the Beaver Pond and stream, this area is off-limits to boys unless accompanied by a commander.

The Pool is off limits except for the designated swim times.

Garbage and Trash Handling:

Due to the regulations in effect for the county we must separate our garbage by type and sort it into clear plastic bags.

Prepare all trash for re-cycling.

PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF GARBAGE AT MEALTIME. PUT RE-CYLCE TRASH IN THE CORRECT CONTAINER. NO ONE LIKES TO RE-SORT IMPROPERLY DISPOSED RE-CYCLEABLES. COMMANDERS INSTRUCT THE BOYS IN THIS MATTER.

Keep all trash and garbage tied up in plastic bags to avoid having flies around.

The following directions must be strictly adhered to:

Use only clear bags.

Plastic items in a separate bag.

Recyclable cans in a separate bag.

Glass in a separate bag. All glass (rinsed and labels removed) in separate container.

Tin cans (rinsed and labels removed) flattened and put in separate container.

All kitchen waste placed in a clear plastic bag and placed in the dumpster.

Part of BEST OF CAMP competition will be determined by how well each outpost complies with the recycle regulations. Remember, each outpost is responsible to bring garbage and recyclables to the designated areas.

GOOD IDEA!

Make copies of all Pow Wow forms.

If you are competing in the best of camp, be sure to make a copy of the pages for “Best of camp” that are found in this packet.
