BOG Farewell to Mitresh Singh

On 7-12-05, on a nice af- ternoon at the Ritz Carl- ton, the BOG the IIA Qatar chapter got together for a luncheon to farewell yet another of its hard working members, Mi- tresh Singh, CIA. In what is becoming our tradition, nothing was really offi- cially said except to wish him the best on his new assignment, which came Mitresh will shortly be leaving Qatar for good, and we would like to spent highlight his dedi- cation to chairing our Education Committee. During the 7 months or

so that he serving the Chapter, Mitresh showed his ability to innovate and his enthusiasm to make things happen, to the benefit of members. We will miss that, as well as the energy that his pres- ence brought to every ac- tivity of which he was a part. Amongst the things that happened in his period with the Qatar chapter, Mitresh managed the Cer- tification examination for CIA's, as has been one of the Chapter’s most cher- ished tasks from the out- let; however

we have met with profes- sors from Qatar Univer- sity – on the occasion of our latest Chapter meet- ing and seminar on 23 November, and set a 5 point plan which we hope will lead to formal col- laboration between the IIA Qatar chapter and the University, for setting up preparatory courses to help people achieve their goal of becoming CIA's. That, we believe, will be a strong contribution to the Qatari business commu- nity, of which both the University and our Chap- ter will be proud , when

we see the increase in the number of Certified Inter- nal Auditors serving the community. In thanking Mitresh for his outstanding work for the Chapter, we recognize that his is a very important po- sition for our future and
