Ethics & Confidentiality for Recertification & License Renewal Part 2 of 2 This course is a review and exploration of ethical principles and confidentiality regulations that apply to behavioral health counseling. We examine universally recognized standards for ethical practice, and review discipline-specific Codes. Par- ticipants are requested to bring a copy of their profession’s current Code of Ethical Conduct for discussion. We will also review the legal requirements of 42CFR§2, 45CFR and the HIPPA Privacy Rule. Special emphasis will be placed on the ethical dilemmas and confidentiality challenges of practice in rural and remote communities; participants are encouraged to bring case vignettes and dilemmas for discussion. This course meets or exceeds the CEU requirements for ACBHC - Behavioral Health Aide re-certification and Clinician license renewal.

Providing Comprehensive HIV Services for Clients In Recovery Addiction and behavioral health professionals provide targeted chemical dependency and mental health counseling ser-

vices as well as health prevention information and coping skill development for their clients and patients. These health services can include HIV risk assessment and client based risk reduction strategies as well as assistance for HIV treatment adherence and illness related coping skills. This workshop will provide a comprehensive review of HIV testing, behavioral prevention & intervention, and the interaction of substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
