David K. Mineta was confirmed on June 22, 2010 to be the Deputy Director of Demand Reduction for the Office of National Drug Con- trol Policy. In this position, Mr. Mineta oversees ONDCP Office of Demand Reduction which focuses on promoting drug prevention and drug treatment programs, as well as the agency’s newly created focus on programs for individuals in recovery from addiction.

FAMILY CENTERED TREATMENT FOR WOMEN WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS This workshop will highlight family-centered treatment that is comprehensive and meets the unique needs of individuals and families. Meeting the complex needs of families served by child welfare and the substance abuse arena are challeng- ing and requires a coordinate system of care. The presenter will discuss background, context, and framework that policy- makers, funders, and treatment providers need in order to develop and expand family-based services and family-centered treatment services for families with parental substance abuse and dependence.
