ExperienceIn 1991, Mr. Duch went to work for the Homestead Villages as project manager, project architect, planner, and designer. The Homestead Village has retirement communities in Pensacola, Florida and Fairhope, Alabama that were designed by Mr. Duch. The Villages contain: Restaurants, Bed and Breakfasts, Hotels, Retail Shops, Banking Facilities, Wellness Centers, Natatorium, Rehab Centers, and Condominiums. Also included are single family homes, independent living apartments, and assisted living facilities. Mr. Duch’s villages also include special Alzheimer Care Facilities.
In July 1994, Mr. Duch established BRETT RUSSELL DUCH, ARCHITECT. Mr. Duch works directly on all projects from the design phase through construction. His use of computer aided drafting (CAD) increases his efficiency and flexibility. He has a core of experienced engineers, designers, and draftsmen, which he directs on these projects.
Mr. Duch’s experience indicates that he has continued to utilize his experience in designing buildings and facilities to enhance the quality of life for the elderly. Over the past several years, he has specialized in the design of independent living apartments for senior citizens. These facilities contain one and two bedroom apartments, dining halls, commercial kitchens, multi-purpose rooms, arts & crafts rooms, exercise areas, and doctors’ offices with nurse’s stations.
