Advanced Placement Exams In 2010, 590 Advanced Placement Exams were taken by North High students. Sixty-five percent of the scores were 3 or better (scored 1-5). Exams were taken in Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC,

AP Equity & Excellence: 26.3% of the Class of 2010 scored 3 or higher on an AP Exam.

SAT Subject Tests North High seniors participated in 15 different SAT Subject Tests: Literature, US History, World History, Mathematics Level 1, Mathematics Level 2, Biology (Ecological), Biology (Molecular),

Chemistry,

Physics, Chinese with

Listening,

French,

Japanese with

Korean

Spanish and

Spanish with Listening.

ACT One-hundred and nine North High students took the ACT in 2010, scoring well above the national average with the following results (scored 1-36):

State & Federal Accountability

State Accountability Academic Performance Index (API): Based on the CAHSEE and State Standards Tests, the API is calculated by the California Department of Education. North High earned an API growth score of 807 in 2010, up 14 points from the previous year. It was given a statewide rank of 8, (schools ranked 1-10 with 10 being highest).

Federal Accountability Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP): Per federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001: North met AYP Participation requirement, but did not meet AYP Proficiency Math requirement. AYP Proficiency ELA is pending.
