mining and metallurgy customers. This fully automated technology offers excellent process performance, reliability and lower operating costs in many applications from the dewatering of mineral concentrates to tailings,” says Xugui.
“By using Larox's pressure or ceramic filtration technologies, our customers can achieve major savings in energy consumption as they can eliminate the pre-dryer stage in most of the dewatering applications in the smelter as a result of drier concentrate,” he explained, “In hydrometallurgy applications, our customers get higher production recovery rate because of better washing results and drier cake. And at the same time, Larox's technology reduces the environmental impact of the process.”
In India, the new subsidiary will be responsible both for Larox's aftermarket services and filter sales development. "We have been active in India already for over 20 years and have built a solid customer base with the help of our local representatives. Establishing our own subsidiary will help us develop our aftermarket services and deepen our customer relationships. We will offer local service, in local language and currency. Thanks to the local spare parts stock and permanent staff we will be able to service our customers better and faster, and we will be able to offer faster and better support also to our local representatives in new equipment sales", said Karppanen. "For filter sales, we will continue to work in close cooperation with our local agents as they have the best, in-depth knowledge of the Indian market potential.”
Metso will supply a complete fine crushing and screening system to Norsk Stein's Jelsa quarry expansion in Norway. The delivery will be completed by June 2010 and is valued at some

amount of conveyors. It also includes the engineering, erection and project management of the new plant.
The stationary plant expansion will raise the production of the Jelsa quarry significantly. The yearly production of the quarry now exceeds 5 Mt. After completing the expansion, the targeted production for fine products will be 850 t/h in addition to existing plant production of 650 t/h, and total production more than 10 Mt/y.
Norsk Stein A/S is one of Europe's biggest aggregates producers. The Jelsa operation,
One of MINPRO’s latest Aker flotation machine installations is the 800 t/h apatite flotation plant at Kovdorsky GOK, (Eurochem) Russia
located northeast of Stavanger produces high quality aggregates for road building, railways and offshore purposes. The end products are shipped to countries like Denmark, UK, France and Germany.
MINPRO International has been in the business of designing and manufacturing as well as providing engineered solutions for the mineral processing industry worldwide for over 27 years. The company has its own advanced patented Aker flotation machines and claims to be the only company in the world that guarantees the life of the wear parts for its flotation machines against normal wear and tear for a period of minimum five years of continuous operation.
Among other product lines are the MINPRO Hydraulic Roller (MHR) mill. These grinding mills are equipped with hydraulic drives and mounted on a self-supporting frame and are also available with mechanical drives. This unique design makes it possible to install the mills without the need for strong and complicated concrete foundations and installation takes just a matter of days.
