Changing a Device for a User

If you set up a Nokia S60 device in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and you change any settings on the screen, you must click Save, then Apply Config, then Reset. Cisco Mobile automatically detects the reset and updates the settings. If Cisco Mobile is connected to Cisco Unified Communications Manager, the phone momentarily displays a change notice. If Cisco Mobile is not connected to Cisco Unified Communications Manager, the phone displays a change notice the next time it connects to Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

Creating a Mobile Identity and Enabling Mobile Connect

A Mobile Identity (also known as a Mobility Identity) is required for all Dial via Office calls.

We recommend that you enable Mobile Connect, formerly known as Single Number Reach, to allow the native mobile number to ring when someone calls the work number. Users can also enable and disable this feature using the client settings.

Before You Begin

Remove any existing Remote Destination that is set up for the mobile phone number. The mobile phone number must be unique in the system.

If you upgrade from Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator/Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage solution, ensure that there are no Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator devices with the same mobile number as your new Nokia S60 devices.

Sign in to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration portal. Search for and delete any existing Remote Destination that is set up with the native phone number. Navigate to the End User Configuration screen for the user.

    In the Mobility Information area, check the Enable Mobility check box.

    (Recommended) Check the Enable Mobile Voice Access check box.

  • c.

    (Recommended) In the Maximum Wait Time for Desk Pickup field, enter 0.

  • d.

    Click Save.
