Setting Up Dial via Office
How It Works 1. User initiates a Dial via Office–Forward call.
2. The client causes the mobile phone to call a dedicated number in Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The call is connected.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager calls and connects to the number that the user dialed.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager connects the two segments.
The user and the called party continue as with an ordinary call.
Dial via Office–Forward
Use this method when calls dialed from the mobile number to Cisco Unified Communications Manager are both:
Less expensive than calls dialed from Cisco Unified Communications Manager to the mobile number
Less expensive than calls dialed directly from the mobile number to the dialed number
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 8.0.3 supports Dial via Office – Reverse only.
You can also set up the system to use DVO optimization settings for toll reduction, which enables the Cisco Unified Communications Manager to select the less expensive call method. This option is visible but not supported on all Cisco Unified Communications Manager releases.
