Setting Up Dial via Office Features

Setting Up Dial via Office

Setting up a Dial via Office Forward Service Access Number

Use this procedure if you need to set up a Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number. You must specify a Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number in the following situations:

Your Enterprise Feature Access Number is not dialable from an external number such as a mobile phone.

For example, if your Enterprise Feature Access Number is 81151234 (a number that represents (408) 555-1234 but that cannot be dialed successfully from an external phone number), your Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number might be 4085551234, a number that can be dialed successfully from the mobile phone.

You want users to be able to use the feature from any country.

In this case, precede the Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number with a backslash followed by a plus sign (\+).

When a user makes a Dial via Office–Forward call, the mobile phone dials either the Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number (if you set one up using this procedure) or the Enterprise Feature Access Number.

Either the Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number or the Enterprise Feature Access Number must match the number of digits that the gateway passes to Cisco Unified Communications Manager. In some cases, you may need to set up the system to recognize a partial match using the Partial Match Settings. You can set up the system to recognize a partial match between the mobile phone number and the Caller ID later, using the following procedure: Authenticating Dial via Office–Forward Callers, page 2-17.

If you set up a Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number, it must be an E.164 number. You must also set up the system so that it properly routes calls to the Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number to the Enterprise Feature Access Number.

For Cisco Unified Communications Manager releases earlier than Release 8.5: You can set up a single Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access number.

For Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 8.5: The number you set up in the following procedure is a default Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number. You will set up a Dial-via-Office Forward Service Access Number for each Mobility Profile, to allow successful routing of calls from different locations.

Before You Begin

Set up the Enterprise Feature Access Number. See Setting Up an Enterprise Feature Access Number, page 2-14.
