Welcome to our Review of the academic year 2009/2010.

We had much to celebrate during the year with outstanding performances in examinations and sport and excellent work in Music, Dance and Drama.

In March we were overwhelmed to learn that former student Kim Hughes had been awarded the George Cross for bravery in Afghanistan. What a fantastic role model for our students! Read all about Kim’s bravery on page 2.

I hope you will enjoy reading about Kim and the many varied aspects of School life.

National Synchronised Swimming Champions

There was great excitement when the girls won this competition for the first time

National Football Champions

Thomas Telford School Football teams clocked up another first when both the Under 14 Boys and the Under 13 Girls won their ESFA National Cup Finals in May. A third team - Under 16 Girls - were narrowly beaten in the Final.

Congratulations to Year 11 students whose fantastic GCSE results could well mean that Thomas Telford School is once again named as the highest performing school in the country.
