Independence Day

The staff in the Restaurant celebrated American Independence Day in style when they dressed themselves in American themed clothing and put on a special American menu for students and staff.

Catering Manager, Mrs Michelle Dear said: “We provided hash browns and pancakes at breakfast time and then lunch was a completely unhealthy menu of hot dogs, southern fried chicken and vegetable burgers with curly fries and baby corn. Donuts, cheesecake and ice cream also went down extremely well.”

El Chico

Nursery children have made a new friend over the past few months while having weekly Spanish lessons with Chico the monkey and his assistant, Miss Milkamanavicius!

SPANISH NURSERY SCHOOL

They sing, play games and read stories with Chico to help them learn and are confident with a variety of topics, such as Greetings and Introductions, Counting, Feelings, Pets, Colours and Weather. They really enjoy speaking Spanish and are making great progress!

Congratulations.. BTEC Business Charity Lock in ..to Abby Buchan Howard who has published her first novel aged just 15. ‘A Teardrop of Love’ is on sale on Amazon as well as in high street shops.

A project with House of Fraser gave 6.1 BTEC Business students a chance to raise money for the Hope House charity.

The students planned, promoted and managed a ‘lock-in’ night with special discounts around the Telford store. The event was aimed at promoting some of the brands and discounts which the store offer and contributed to evidence for the students' work exploring Creative Product Promotion.

Students promoted the event through flyers, posters and school broadcasts, even creating a Facebook group to raise the profile of the event. They organised entertainment

including a DJ and a performance by dance group DNA. The group also used the event to raise funds for Hope House by organising a raffle which included prizes donated by House of Fraser.

Earlier in the year, 6.2 BTEC Business students raised over £1000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance by organizing and promoting Halloween and Valentines discos for Year 7 and 8 students. They sold drinks, sweets and glo-sticks to maximise the amount raised.
