Stephen J. Scanlon - Vice President of Design and Construction

A graduate of Boston College, Mr. Scanlon began his career in 1988 with Turner Construction Company where he held various engineering positions that ultimately led him to the international office in 1993. While working as a Project Construction Engineer at Turner International, Mr. Scanlon managed a $105 million design-build of the twin, 40-story World Trade Center in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

In 1996, Mr. Scanlon was named Senior Project Engineer on a $60 million design-assist of the Aquarium of the Pacific located in Los Angeles, California. In 1999, Mr. Scanlon was named Project Manager on a $200 million Doha Ritz Carlton project in Doha, Qatar and a $40 million Hilton Hotel project in Cairo, Egypt.

Mr. Scanlon joined Swinerton Builders in 2000 as the Senior Project Manager on a $160 million OMNI Hotel and Condominium project in San Diego, California. His responsibilities included management of all planning, estimating, purchasing, engineering, superintending and administrative activities. In 2003, he was retained as an international consultant, performing services in China and the Netherlands as the Construction Engineer on a $1 billion Corporate Headquarters complex for the Chinese National Television Company.

Mr. Scanlon joined Nexus in 2004 as Vice President of Design and Construction. Most recently, Mr. Scanlon oversaw and managed the construction of Nexus’ Skyline at MacArthur Place project in South Coast Metro, California.

Ryan Vogt-Lowell, Esq. - Vice President, General Counsel

Mr. Vogt-Lowell began his legal career at the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP, in Costa Mesa, California, after graduating from Boston College in 1995 with a B.A. degree and Duke University School of Law in 2002 with a J.D. degree.

As an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP, Mr. Vogt-Lowell specialized in real estate-related transactions, representing a variety of clients, including lenders, developers, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, and owners of commercial, industrial, residential and other real estate projects, with experience in multi-site, multi-state, improved and unimproved property portfolios. Mr. Vogt-Lowell also has civil litigation experience in a variety of legal areas, including business litigation, securities, unfair

competition, intellectual property and labor and employment law.

Mr. Vogt-Lowell joined Nexus as General Counsel in April 2007

As chief legal counsel of the

company, Mr. Vogt-Lowell provides oversight, guidance, and direction regarding all aspects of the company’s legal affairs.

Mr. Vogt-Lowell is a member of the California State Bar and is an active member of the Business Law and Real Property Law sections.
