The Sudy Group presented two successful programs at the New Haven Lawn Club this year.. The fall series was “A Special Relationship: The American People and the British Monarchy,” five lectures by Frank Prochaska, Lec- turer and Senior Research Scientist in History.
In the spring,, members and their guests enjoyed five lectures entitled “Con- structing the Public Realm: Urban Space and Its Uses” featuring Alan Plattus, Professor of Architecture and Urbanism.
The excellent attendance at these lectures led the Study Group to present the YUWO Scholarship Fund with a donation of $2000.

Wine and Cheese Reception
YUWO's Wine and Cheese Reception was held on September l6, 2006 at the President's House on Hillhouse Avenue. Once again, Jane Levin was kind enough to welcome our group.
The reception opens the YUWO year and is always popular as we meet newcomers to the Yale commu- nity and visit with friends after the summer break. Equally important, this party is a preview of events to be sponsored by YUWO in the coming year. Representatives of the many interest and study groups are on hand to answer questions and provide details of the various programs.
This year Karl Ronne of The Wine Thief coordinated with Elliot and David Brause to offer an excellent assortment of wines for tasting. Karl has generously agreed to succeed Elliot as our wine supplier for fu- ture receptions. Happily, the Brauses intend to come each year to share their expertise with us.
Our opening party this year was a real success and the YUWO membership is most grateful to President and Mrs. Levin for their hospitality.
