Using NetBackup for SQL Server with clustering solutions

NetBackup for SQL Server can be used for backing up and restoring installations which are clustered either with Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) or Veritas Cluster Server (VCS).

Support for Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) clusters

NetBackup supports MSCS on 32-bit systems. On SQL Server 7.0, a maximum of 2 failover nodes is supported, on SQL Server 2000, 4 nodes, on SQL Server 2005, 8 nodes. Symantec recommends that the NetBackup server and the SQL Server be in different cluster groups.
