Annual 4H/FFA Livestock Auction is August 16

The annual Northwest Montana Fair 4H/FFA Market Livestock Auction will be held Saturday, August 16, at the Fairgrounds Arena. Two hundred fty animals are expected to be auctioned this year. The activities start August 14, with the UNWIND in Depot Park at 5:00 PM, which will feature the Grand and Reserve champion animals. The Fair UNWIND is sponsored by Tire Rama, Valley Bank, Western States Insurance, Crowley Law Firm, and NorthWestern Energy. This business social will include a bar-b- qued pig from Farm-to-Market Pork. On Saturday, auction activities begin with a buyers breakfast at 7:30 a.m., the sale begins at 8:30, and the event concludes with lunch at noon.

This will be the 38th year the Agribusiness Committee has sponsored this event. Chamber members are invited to come out and support these young people and buy some good meat for your family, employees, and friends.

Many people are concerned about the last few months of turbulent economic news. These stories have prompted many to ask whether Montana will be hit by hard times in the coming year. We’ll be covering a lot of interesting economic data at this event. The presentation will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell from noon to 1:30 pm. There will be a lunch program this year, and $20 registration fee will be charged to cover admission and lunch. Board of Director Nominations Open

Nominations are now open for general members interested in serving on the board directors of the Kalispell Chamber. The term of oce is three years and commences on January 1, 2009.
