17.1.5.Library/media and technology center.  The library/resource/media center did not have pamphlets for student use.

17.1.8.Grades 1-12 classrooms.  The following rooms were not of adequate size:  Rooms 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, and 214.  The following rooms were not located near related educational areas and away from disruptive noises:  Rooms 100, 101, 102, 103, and 104.  The following rooms had inadequate storage:  Rooms 100, 101,102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, and 214-A.  Room 207 did not have access to communication technologies (telephone, fax, computer with Internet access, etc.), a teacher’s desk and computer station, desk and chairs, audiovisual equipment, controllable lights, and outlets.

17.1.10.Specialized instructional areas.  The art facility was not of adequate size and storage was inadequate.  The following equipment was not available in the art facility:  Two deep sinks, display facilities, mechanical ventilation, ceramic kiln, and black-out areas.  The music facility was not of adequate size, was not located away from quiet areas of the building, and storage was inadequate.  The music facility did not have a podium, music stands, or acoustical treatment.

17.1.11.Grades 6-12 science facilities.  The science facilities were not of adequate size and were not located with easy access to outdoor activities and isolated to keep odors from the remainder of the building.  The following equipment was not available in all of the science rooms:   Sufficient laboratory workspace, emergency showers, balance cases, darkening provisions, main gas shut-off, and adequate storage.

17.1.12.Grades 7-12 auditorium/stage.  The middle school stage did not have acoustical panels.

17.1.14.Food service.  The food service area did not have adequate space and equipment and a chalkboard.  A teachers’ dining area of adequate size was not provided.  The kitchen area was not of adequate size.  Food and non-food storage was not adequate.

17.1.15.Health service units.  A health services unit of adequate size was not available.  The following equipment was not available:  Curtained or small rooms with cots, bulletin board, toilet, lavatory, refrigerator with locked storage, work counter, and desk and chair.

FOLLOW-UP CONCLUSION

School facility resource needs remained the same as indicated in the original Education Performance Audit report.
