Recommendation C: Create a peer-to-peer community of support that is accessible to veterans with all types of injuries and their families.
Develop peer support program or mentoring program for veterans with all types of injuries and their families.
Identify programs and or curriculum to train and volunteer family members, clergy and other community
members to serve as mentors to veterans with all types of injuries and/or their families.
Coordinate and collaborate with programs providing services to veterans with all types of injuries and/or their families to provide training to community members.
Recommendation D: In collaboration with local public, non-profit and business groups, professional organizations, state and local governmental entities, military community leaders, and other key stakeholders that support and sustain military families, plan and execute a series of informational workshop on immediate needs.
1. Conduct statewide educational programs designed to enhance the community’s understanding about issues faced by veterans and their families (i.e. employment opportunities, benefits, financial needs, etc.)
