The findings are promising and indicate that the FFM may have potential to increase the clinical utility of the diagnostic manual. Nevertheless, there are now only two published FFM clinical utility studies, and additional research is needed to further address the inconsistencies between the findings of Sprock (2003) and the current study, as well as to further explore the potential advantages of the FFM and additional alternative dimensional models of personality disorder.
