Division for Chevrolet. When the depression came he was terminated at the plant and they moved back to the Whitewater, MO, area in 1930, where they worked a farm owned by Dr. J. C. Finney. In 1937 the Ralphs moved to a 10 -acre place on the north edge of Jackson, MO. Ruby worked at the International Shoe plant in Jackson, MO during World War 11 in a unit that manufactured gloves. When she and John moved to Hammond, IN, in 1953, she began work in a coat manufacturing company, where she became the local union president. Upon retirement in 1973, they moved to Cape Girardeau, MO, where Ruby continues to live.
