At our AGM in February we said goodbye to George and Jean Can- nell, with many thanks for their service to the Fellowship over the years. And we elected two new members of the committee: Maggie Mahoney and Patricia Pegg. Maggie also took over from George and Jean the duties of Secretary. The committee now includes mem- bers who once worked for all three of the main Aviva constituent companies.

We also have a new event organ- iser in David Broom, who has ar- ranged a tour of Godstone which will be guided by his former neighbour, the very knowledgeable Peter Fernée.

Events for the summer and autumn

This edition of the Newsletter is, regrettably, late. (The Editor has no-one to blame but himself.)

It means that you must take ac- tion without delay, if you wish to participate in several imminent events:

  • Dave and Ann Newland’s Thames Path Walk, on Tuesday 24th July - no booking required.

  • The next Pub Lunch (8th Au- gust) and

  • The visit to Finchcocks Musical Museum (5th September) both need booking by 31st July.

Order forms are included with this Newsletter. In addition:

  • Ring Sheila on 01883 342594 by 27th July if you want to join the Seaside Walk, on 15th Au- gust.

There will be an Autumn Lunch as usual, at the Grasshopper, but details have not yet been finalised. Make sure you’re on our mailing list if you want to be advised. So that we can keep in contact, and let you know of upcom- ing events, it is important that we have up to date information. If you move, change your email address or just want to change your preferences and get information about walks and theatre visits etc., not only the lunches, please let Colin know.
