Hand-held transmitter operation

Keep the hand-held transmitter out of the reach of children. Activate the hand-held transmitter only when you can see the door area. Watch the moving door and keep everyone away from the door until it has completely opened or closed.

Single-channel operation [46] The first button is programmed.

Multiple-channel operation [47] 2-channel operation:

Program the first, second or any button.

3-channel operation: Program the first, second, third or any button.

4-channel operation: Program the first, second, third and fourth button.

Delete all programmed radio con-

trol commands (only if required) [48] Press the “Program” button (2) for at least 3 seconds. The red LED (1) then flashes quickly for 2 sec- onds before going out – the delet- ing procedure is now completed (duration: approx. 5 seconds). All programmed hand-held transmit- ters are deleted.

Additional settings

The garage door electric operator is supplied in the basic factory setting with all switches on the DIP-switch (P) set to ”Off”. The following additional settings can be programmed, if required, using a rotary potentiometer (F1, F2) and the DIP switch (P):

Setting the obstruction

characteristic The force for closing and opening the door can be set only with the “Power close” (F1) and “Power open “ (F2) rotary potentiometers. The factory setting (= minimal) must not be changed as a rule. In this position, a smoothly moving door should run perfectly, it may not come to rest or change its running direc- tion without the action of an obstruction.

The door must initially be checked for smooth running and function and ad- justed accordingly before attempting to reset.

If need be, the obstruction device can be set higher as shown below:

[50] Using a screw driver in the anti- clockwise direction, check whether both rotary potentiometers (F1 and F2) are set to the minimal setting.

[51] Increase the setting values with rotary potentiometers F1 and F2 until the door operates perfectly in both end positions. Measure the maximum permissible values ac- cording to standards EN 12 453 and EN12 445 using a suitable measuring device, and do not ex- ceed.

If the basic factory setting for ro- tary potentiometers F1 and F2 is modi- fied, determine the resulting closing edge capacity of the door – see proce- dure [51]. If the permissible values stipulated in the standard are exceed- ed, additional safety devices (e.g. light barrier, safety strip) must be installed and used.

Setting an advance warning time The advance warning time determines the point at which the warning light is ac- tivated before each motor runs (factory setting: 0 seconds).

Adjusting partial opening The partial opening time determines the time at which the door remains par- tially open after starting from the closed position.

In order to partially open a door, either a command unit (e.g. wall-mounted push-button) must be attached to the external connection ”partial opening” (2) or a button on the hand-held trans- mitter must be programmed. To this end, briefly press the ”Program” button

onds, activate a non-programmed but- ton on the hand-held transmitter – the red LED flashes continuously and the hand-held transmitter has now been programmed correctly.

[53] Adjust partial opening time with button 4: Open the door from the closed position with the impulse button, setting the switch to “Off”. Once the door has partially opened the desired distance, stop the door drive and set switch 4 to the “On” position.

In order to modify a programmed partial opening time, initially set switch 4 to the ”Off” position and then, reset to the “On” position as described above.

Automatic closure setting The automatic closure facility is a con- trol function that automatically makes the door travel back to the closed posi- tion. Closing time can easily be pro- grammed via switch 5 (from 2 s up to a max. of 8.5 min). In the factory setting, the automatic closure option is switched off and switch 5 is set to the “Off” position.

Operations involving the auto- matic closure mechanism are per- missible only when an additional safe- ty device (light barrier / safety strip) is installed [58-].

[54] Set the automatic closure mecha- nism via switch 5: Make the door travel to the opening position. Once the desired opening time has been reached, set switch 5 to the ”On” position. The door trav- els to the closed position. The programmed time is memorised.

In order to modify a programmed opening time, switch 5 must initially be set to the ”Off” position and then to the ”On” position, as described above. This procedure is also essential after reset- ting.
